Doryoku After Dark

Such is the blend of cultures and popularity of the automotive world today that not much can happen without everybody knowing about it. This can be both a blessing and a curse as we all know as sometimes, your chill Saturday night event might fall prey to the undesirables of the car scene, or the ‘.50 cal bullet as a radio antenna‘ type group(these are the same people who think they can rev the misfire out of their 1G-FE).

Well, the good folks over at Doryoku had enough of their spots getting blown up by the delinquents of the car scene and decided that the correct course of action was an invite only event.

Not long after my attendance at the DxN Invitational I got a message from Vince over there with an invite to a get together he was planning down in Oakville in July. Smaller meets have and always will be, my preferred car function. Its personal, quaint and allows for greater interactions with those in attendance. It also means the photo opportunities are through the roof as foot traffic is low.

The location, an industrial premises in Oakville was the perfect setting for some golden hour shots of what was a small but high quality showing as you can see.

The mosquitoes were out in force by the time the sun set but when John & Adjo from Zen Style lit up some cigars(Cigars & Cars coming soon) then I was all too happy to hang around and shoot the shit until the thoughts of the traffic laiden jaunt back to the city got the better of me and I bailed.

I wasn’t expecting this invite out but I was more than happy that it was extended to me, what a lovely way to spend an evening.
