Trading Places

This feels like a severe case of Deja Vu. That’s most likely down to a number of reasons that I’ll get into later on but its safe to say that I want to shoot all cars in petrol stations at night from this point onwards.

This scene might look familiar to anyone who’s seen the shoot with Tadhg’s PS13 from a couple months back with this 180sx lurking in the background. Well, as with all things I seem to plan around cars, you nearly always get more than what you pay for, be it meeting interesting people or hearing a unique story or getting two shoots for the price of one! See, I’ve known this car for some time, about 2/3 years now. It was owned by a friend who took it from a generic looking S13 to what you see here over the course of that ownership. It was at last years Cars & Coffee as well as multiple days out for coffee/soup.

Unfortunately, due to his emigration to the land down under, the car was surplus to requirements and was advertised for sale. Its always sad to see someone sell a car that you associate with certain memories or points in time. Fortunately enough for me, I got a message a couple weeks later from what is now the cars new owner telling me that he was after purchasing something new and he was going to be calling down on Friday night and he’d be driving his latest acquisition.

How it took me 3 years and two owners to get some proper shots of this white 90s box is something I have no excuse for, I must be slacking hard! You would’ve seen the original version of this car at one of our previous BBQs wearing a 326Power wing and shoes that definitely aren’t as scarce on the ground as pairs of 17” 4x114 WORK Evolution Stitch and two-piece Meisters. The interior(thanks for loaning me the rear seats!) is sporting a mis-match pair of Bride Low-Max along with a Nardi wheel and a half cage whilst the clean white exterior is given some added aero through Ganador mirrors and a DMAX boot spoiler.

I think the new owner has some nice plans in the works for this car over the coming years but as you can see, its already a good base to play around with. I’ll try and get some updates for you on any changes when I’m home in November as this isn’t the only car in its owners fleet so I think I’m probably due a visit!
